Honey & Oat Soap
I made this unscented soap once in the 1990s & it became the bar that started this company in 2013 . . . it is truly food for my skin, deeply moisturizing from the honey with a gentle oat scrub.
Honey & Oat soap is a perfect year-round bar & especially helpful when my skin has been exposed to extreme elements from a sunny beach day or winter wind. Leigh, The Soap Lady
Our face & body soaps are a soothing balance of water from the Atlantic Ocean & oils that create a rich lather for natural cleansing of face, hands & body. Perfect for sink, tub & shower use, we use them for bathing in nature, too! 😊
It is not marked 'vegan' only because it contains honey
Otherwise it does not contain any ingredients derived from animals . . . we promise ![]()
All year round we go to Port Hillford beach on the pristine Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia to collect sea water in five-gallon buckets. We've learned that crocs are the best thing to wear, as rubber boots simply fill up with water 😊 Once filtred through fine fabric, it makes up 25% of every bar!
Why? Salt water makes a harder bar so it lasts longer, salt water is soothing to skin, & most especially it's kind of romantic to use something that connects us to our ancestors who emigrated from the old country 10 generations ago.
Soap Making Note: Sodium hydroxide (commonly referred to as 'lye') is necessary to cause the chemical reaction that makes oil & water become soap. Once the soap is soap, the lye is gone.😊 Please visit our FAQ page for more info about the saponification process.
Full bar: appx 100 grams* (cured)
Mini bar: appx 25 grams* (cured)
* While curing water evaporates & weight decreases, though shape remains the same. Fully cured bars are harder, so last longer, provided they dry between uses.
Full bar & mini bar: Recyclable, compostable, zero-waste, plastic-free box
Tip: Place the bar on the bristles of a fingernail brush so the water drains off it.
Tip: This is a great way to use up slivers of soap too small to hold. Note: There is a slight possibility that the oats could clog the dispensing mechanism, so we suggest rinsing it occasionally with clear water.
I truly love the lather and how it leaves my skin soft and smooth, my only complaint is the oatmeal pieces are very big and kinda rough on the skin . But it is unscented and great for my sensitive skin
This soap lasts a good amount of time and is great on my skin. I do wish the oatmeal pieces were smaller though to provide a better exfoliating experience.
Good afternoon Heather,
Thank you for your review <3 You may find our baby bar with sifted oats to suit your request for smaller oats <3 If scent is ok for you I highly recommend the Lemon Scrub bar - it's scented with our Rustic Lemon Signature Scent & has a rough ground cornmeal in it ~ delightful exfoliation! Almost tickles!

This product is awesome! I’ve been searching for a natural dish washer power and so thankful I found this product. I only need to use a small amount of powder and my dishes come out sparkling clean.
I buy facial/body cream in Lavender and the unscented and love them both. I use the oat soap bar and the 3-in-1 for my hair. I have naturally oily hair and usually need to wash my hair everyday, but with the 3-in-1, I wash them every 3rd day. I'm very happy about that. Since my hair is silver/white they would often get a yellowish tinge from shampoos. This does not happen with the 3-in-1 bar. Just shinny, silver/white hair without the yellow. Love it!! Thank You! 😊
There are absolutely no cons with this deodorant. If you have issues with using your finger for application… that may be a con. No white casting or transfer to clothes … as long as it is rubbed in … and the smell divine
